Wisconsin Heights won the Middleton Invitational to jump six spots in becoming the coaches' choice in the D-3 poll.

Milwaukee Pius XI used an impressive tournament appearance this past weekend to maintain its hold on the No. 1 spot in the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association poll.

The Lady Popes downed third-ranked West Bend East by 25-22 and 28-26 scores in the championship match of the Highlander Invitational at Homestead to stay atop the Division 1 ratings.

Muskego remained in second while defending state runner-up WB East held onto third. Defending state champion Watertown stayed in fifth.

Kettle Moraine Lutheran, the defending Division 2 trophy winner, lost to WB East in the semifinals at the Highlander competitions (25-23, 25-20) but stayed one position ahead of Waupun, which it defeated to claim its title a year ago.

In Division 3, Wisconsin Height’s vaulted from seventh to first in the coaches’ rankings after knocking off the host Cardinals in the Middleton Invite in the semis and rival Lodi (25-21, 25-23) in the championship match.

Defending state champion Cuba City remained No. 2, while Sheboygan Lutheran and Grantsburg, both previously unrated, took over the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

Burlington Catholic Central, the returning D-4 state winner, continued to hold the top spot while Green Bay NEW Lutheran jumped up two spots to No. 2.
