The big games keep getting bigger. Some teams already have pretty much locked up league titles, but most conference races haven’t been decided yet.

In addition, dozens of teams are battling for playoff spots, while potential seeding positions also are at stake as the regular season winds down to the final three weeks.

Nearly 40 schools remain unbeaten overall. However, we know that number will be shaved by at least three on Friday night.

Two of those perfect records will come to an end in the Rock Valley Conference because McFarland visits Evansville in the North Division and Walworth Big Foot travels to Brodhead-Juda in the South. All four teams enter these showdowns with 3-0 league records and 6-0 overall marks.

Big Foot, Brodhead-Juda and Evansville are Nos. 1-3, respectively, in this week’s BadgerStatePreps.com Division 4 poll, while McFarland is No. 10 in D-3.

The other matchup of undefeated combatants features Hillsboro, ranked third in D-7, entertaining Bangor, rated No. 7 in D-6, with both sitting at 4-0 in Scenic Bluffs action and 6-0 overall.

Other key contests include Elk Mound (3-0, 4-2) visiting Mondovi (4-0, 5-1) in a Dunn-St. Croix battle; Owen-Withee and Loyal, two of three teams at 5-1, tangling in a key Cloverwood game; Green Bay Notre Dame (5-0, 6-0) squaring off against Green Bay Preble (4-1, 5-1); West Allis Hale and Milwaukee Marquette meeting with 4-0, 5-1 marks in the Greater Metro; Brillion (5-1, 5-1) traveling to Hilbert (5-0, 6-0) in the Olympian; Potosi (5-0, 6-0) visiting Benton/Scales Mound (4-1, 5-1) in the Six Rivers; third-ranked D-1 team D.C. Everest (4-0, 6-0) heading down Interstate 39 to face No. 10 Stevens Point (3-0, 5-1) in the Wisconsin Valley; and Greendale (5-0, 6-0), No. 8 in D-3, hosting No. 6 New Berlin Eisenhower (5-0, 6-1).
